In the Matsumoto area of Shinshu, it is customary to serve konnyaku (kelp), abura-age (deep-fried tofu), and hijiki (hijiki mushrooms) with the meal after the memorial service (osai, or "direct meeting").
This is a recommended meal with a variety of dishes made from seasonal ingredients. Naturally, it comes with country soba as well. Please enjoy this slightly luxurious dish.
