When I first ordered the miso stew, I was surprised to see the tofu looking like a dessert. The sweet flavor seeps in thoroughly, and adding a bit of mustard enhances the taste. The freshly fried fish cakes and horse mackerel fry are fluffy and bring a smile to my face. The chicken tempura is soft with a light texture, and it's fun to change the flavor with the oyster sauce on the table. The cheek meat in the roast beef bowl is tender, and it becomes even more delicious with the garlic-flavored sauce and raw egg. The assorted Haccho miso stew also has flavors soaked into the konjac, eggs, and liver, and the service of a demitasse coffee after the meal is comforting.
