A Hidden Gem of Korean Cuisine with Authentic Flavors and Warm Hospitality

Nestled quietly on the second floor of a building near Kanayama Station, the Kanayama Main Store has been a beloved establishment for over 20 years in Nagoya, specializing in Korean cuisine. The owner, originally from Korea, prepares dishes that highlight the rich flavors of beef bone soup, such as hot pot and dak-kalbi, as well as perfectly grilled, fluffy jeon (Korean pancakes). The stylish interior, adorned with a wall of charming Chamisul bottles, creates a comfortable atmosphere suitable for both small and large groups.

This shop is located on the second floor near the station, and it has a bit of a fun challenge to find. The interior is clean and stylish, allowing for a casual and relaxing atmosphere. The seafood pancake is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, providing a very pleasant texture. The chicken soup was also full of flavor, and it was enjoyable to be taught how to eat it properly. The staff were kind, and I appreciated that I could choose whether to have ice in my makgeolli. It's also a nice touch that I can order with my smartphone and receive a drink service when I post on social media.
