A traditional farmhouse café to experience the tranquility of the mountains

Kominka Yado Higahora is the perfect café to enjoy the serene mountain landscape and nostalgic rural scenery. In this natural setting, where mobile signals are hard to find, you can savor curry and cake sets while being enveloped in a pleasant countryside atmosphere. The Japanese-style curry, made with plenty of grated apples, is mild yet uniquely spiced. It's highly recommended for those looking to forget the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy attentive service and a peaceful time.

This shop, which makes use of an old traditional house, has a comforting atmosphere that feels like coming to a countryside home. There are engawa (a type of veranda) and chair seating, allowing you to relax while listening to the sound of the grandfather clock. The limited quantity curry features an original roux with grated apple, which pairs well with konjac and green onions, offering a gentle flavor. The cakes include fluffy chiffon and pudding cake, which go perfectly with a deep coffee. The tableware also has its own charm, and combined with the attentive service, it brings a sense of peace. I felt it was perfect for when you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and spend time slowly, forgetting about time.
