History: The Citranity! recipe came from one of our old Brewers (hi Nathaniel!) back at our original pub. Inspired by the Citra hop, a very aromatic, citrusy, and bright hop–we all agreed it was an explosion of a beer experience, hence the name Citra-Insanity = Citranity! It originally straddled the line between American Pale Ale and Session IPA categories. We tweaked it through the years so that it stands strongly and firmly in the Session IPA category, giving consumers an aromatic, bright, and balanced IPA they can drink at higher volumes without compromising their palate or their safe drinking practices. History: Before Midnight Peddler wheeled up, there was Serendipity Porter, one of our oldest and most cherished beer recipes from when Beards first opened in 2012. Since the first time we tapped and canned this traditional English style Porter, we've had a reliable beer full of roasted, chocolatey, creamy flavors and aromas. And hey, just because this beer got a name change doesn't mean we've changed the recipe–we think this beer is perfect just the way it is. Here at Beards, we think there's something inherently Northern Michigan about offering a dark style of beer year round. Dark beer isn't just for cold seasons and sweaters and snow, it's for warm day hikes, barbeque marinades, and happy hours by the campfire. Our Copperstar IPA made with fresh local Michigan Copper Hops from MI Local of Williamsburg, MI. Copperstar is an astronomical ale fit for a Space Force admiral. MI Local Hops is one of our Northern Michigan beer ingredient suppliers and we love working with them during the hop harvest season (August-September) to obtain the freshest and highest quality hops for our beers. Wet Hop Copperstar is a celebration of the Michigan hop harvest and an ode to the Michigan IPA.
