A popular eatery for Byodo-in Temple visitors, the chasoba set meal is highly recommended. The chasoba is green tea-colored and topped with wakame seaweed, fish cake, nori, fried egg, and green onion. The broth is deliciously Kyoto-style, and the warm chasoba is perfect for a cold day. Although the restaurant is cramped, it is the perfect place to enjoy the local flavor. In addition to Uji's chasoba, the tender herring is also highly recommended.
