A nostalgic restaurant overlooking the Sea of Japan

Shouya no Yakata is a nostalgic restaurant where you can feel the presence of the Sea of Japan right in front of you. The interior, renovated from an old house, is quiet and charming. The steak bowl made with Noto beef is particularly chewy, and the rich soy-based sauce enhances its deliciousness.

The building has a traditional Japanese farmhouse style, with a thatched roof and an irori (hearth) that creates a very calming atmosphere. Upon entering, there is a dirt floor with an irori, and you can take off your shoes to relax in a tatami mat room or in a seat where you can stretch your legs. It is located in a place where you can see the sea, making it perfect for a stop during a drive. The seafood bowl features warm vinegared rice topped with tororo (grated yam), and the sashimi, including shrimp and tuna, is all rich in flavor and delicious. The Noto beef steak bowl has tender loin with a soy-based sauce and garlic chips, and the tofu underneath provides a refreshing aftertaste. The aosa seaweed miso soup and fried squid were also impressive, and the service was quick, allowing for a pleasant dining experience.
