A Heartwarming, Homestyle Chinese Restaurant

Kyouka Hanten is a place where you can enjoy comforting Chinese cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. The interior is simple yet clean, creating a space that feels reassuring every time you visit. Particularly beloved by many is the mapo tofu, which features the unique spiciness of Sichuan pepper rather than the usual doubanjiang.

When I entered the restaurant, a cheerful lady warmly welcomed me, and I felt cozy right from the start. The mapo tofu, with a strong kick of Sichuan pepper, has a sharp spiciness that makes it hard to stop eating the rice. The stir-fried greens with a nice crunch and the chewy pan-fried dumplings both showcase the quality of the ingredients, which is delightful. The spring rolls, perfectly crispy on the outside, are gooey on the inside, allowing me to savor the happiness of biting into them while they are still hot. The fried rice, packed with plump shrimp, comes with soup and salad, instantly brightening up the table. With non-smoking seats available, it's a Chinese restaurant where you can relax and want to stop by while strolling through the city.
