Soba-ya Kou is a bright and clean establishment where you can enjoy creative soba dishes. The rough-textured, flat, thin soba noodles have a unique flavor that is enhanced when paired with the dipping sauce. The tempura made with locally sourced ingredients is also exquisite, and the delicate taste of the grated soba is not to be missed.

The large noren at the entrance stands out, and I was able to enter easily even though it looked like a private house. Once inside, the shop was new and clean, and the sunken kotatsu-style seats were comfortable and relaxing. The style of serving the salad in a cup that I had to transfer to my plate was a bit interesting. The mori soba served in a three-tiered steamer was impressive in appearance, and I enjoyed the firm texture and gentle flavor unique to ni-hachi soba. The grated soba was also refreshing, and I was satisfied to enjoy it in a large portion. The tempura of wakasagi that the smiling owner served as a complimentary dish was crispy, and it left me feeling warm and happy until the end.
