I traveled to Nagoya for six days and visited a Western restaurant called Camaro twice. Both times were unforgettable, and this restaurant left a deep impression on me regarding Nagoya. On the first night, after not feeling full from the barbecue, I went for a second meal and ordered a hamburger. It wasn't a large portion of meat, but it was manageable. The hamburger was pan-fried to a crisp, with the aroma of the meat wafting through the air, and the fat was just right, creating a smooth finish. The fragrance of wild mushrooms paired well with the sauce. Accompanied by house wine, the red wine had a fruity aroma that was slightly intoxicating, with a round and solid mouthfeel that went down very smoothly. The coffee was a surprise, rich in milk aroma, with the subtle scent of deep-roasted coffee slowly wafting out, harmonizing together like a dancer, light yet rich. After enjoying one cup, I ordered a second. I savored the waltz on my taste buds. On my second visit, after going to an izakaya, I ordered a dish called 'Master' chicken steak. When the chicken arrived at the table, it emitted an enticing aroma, with herbs sprinkled over the crispy, charred skin, perfectly blended together. The chicken was tender, juicy, and each bite released delicate flavors, filling my mouth with fragrance. Paired with white wine, the fresh aroma mixed with the softness and fat of the chicken, overflowing with a cool floral and fruity scent. I love this restaurant not only because most dishes are priced between 800-1000 yen, and the total bill of around 2000 yen is equivalent to about 100 Hong Kong dollars, but also because the coffee, which is super delicious, far surpasses any café's coffee at just 350 yen (about 18 Hong Kong dollars). Additionally, the Showa-era decor of the restaurant adds a touch of elegance, making the dining experience feel more ceremonial. The elderly waitress, Ms. Anko, and I had a delightful conversation through a translation app. During our chat, I learned that Camaro has been in business for 38 years! I am only 29! That is indeed a long time. The elderly lady even treated me to her personal cheese (from Tokachi), which prompted me to order another glass of white wine to complement it (she even poured me a second large glass!). She said she could feel my love for Camaro. The chef also gifted me a pudding! The tender texture of the egg is still unforgettable. The crisp sound of clinking glasses with Ms. Anko in a toast to Camaro remains vividly in my mind, and our encouraging words to each other to work hard before our next visit still warm my heart. The thoughtfully planted pansies outside the restaurant continue to bloom brightly in my album, and this beautiful memory of Nagoya will illuminate every long night and morning before my next visit like a dim light. If you go to Nagoya's Fushimi, remember to visit this Western restaurant near exit 5 of the station. The menu is in Japanese and hard to translate, but after mentioning simple ingredient words in English, the elderly waitress can recommend dishes for you. Don't forget to order a cup of coffee to try! Its rich aroma can help you let go of the day's fatigue and fully appreciate the tenderness in the cup.
