At a bento shop where you can quickly grab something at the station, the selection was more abundant than I expected. The specialty, the mountain bandit grilled chicken, was generously placed on top of the rice, and I felt excited the moment I saw it. The batter was surprisingly crispy, and when I sprinkled a little of the accompanying salt, the flavor of the chicken was greatly enhanced. The cabbage underneath absorbed the oil just right, allowing me to enjoy it lightly until the end. The side dishes, such as yam tempura and maitake mushroom stew, were also carefully prepared, creating a rhythm in the flavors. I even enjoyed the apricot jelly for dessert, making the train journey feel even more enjoyable.
