■Spiced curry that will make your heart pound! The rarity of sitting on tatami mats! A hidden place that's hard to find from the outside! Nung Kui ♦︎ Shichimichi station 5 minute walk from Shichimichi Station. A famous spiced curry restaurant selected as one of the 100 best curry restaurants in the Eating Log Curry 2019. This curry restaurant is located in a non-urban area but has the ability to be selected as one of the 100 best curry restaurants, and is located in a residential area. The signboard is small and you would not notice it if you are just walking around normally. The restaurant is built in a row house, so it is not as glamorous as an installation picture. Personally, I think it has a retro feel to it, but.., The novelty of eating while sitting on tatami mats is interesting. Menu ♦Keema with minced pork and Japanese pepper: 900 yen I was thinking of ordering the scorching mutton curry that seemed to be a popular menu item, However, I was intrigued by the word "Japanese pepper keema", which I had never heard of before, so I chose it! The menu came out with the aroma of Japanese pepper, cumin, and other spices mixed together. The taste is a complex mixture of pork fat, spice, and a tangy flavor of sansho (Japanese pepper). I thought that the many characteristic spices might fight with each other, but that was not the case. Rather, I was surprised by the flavor that lingers afterwards, which is often lacking in spiced curries. How can they create this complex flavor? The restaurant's technique is wonderful. I think I am going to be addicted to the charm of spiced curry. I want to try making it myself. Spiced curry lovers should definitely visit and take a look. Thank you very much for the meal.
