Located in a corner of a shopping street that retains the atmosphere of the Showa era, it is very easy to stop by as it is just a short walk from the station. The storefront is lined with freshly fried fish cakes, making it hard to choose which one to pick. There is a wide variety, including fried bean sprouts, fried kinpira, and those filled with edamame, which is quite enjoyable. Thanks to the traditional method of carefully grinding the fish paste with a stone mortar, the umami of the fish is strongly felt. With a gentle flavor that does not use preservatives, it is excellent whether enjoyed as is or lightly grilled with ginger soy sauce. Of course, it can be used as an ingredient for oden, but serving it as a side dish at the dining table brings smiles to the whole family.
