It was far beyond the concept of eel I had ever eaten before. I had heard a lot about this place, but I had a bad memory of visiting a famous eel restaurant in Mishima and coming back disappointed. The skin was crispy, the meat was fluffy, and the bones were not bothersome, but the slightly sweet sauce made it all the more delicious. It was just as they say.

It was my first visit in 20 years, and the atmosphere was very nice, just as it used to be. Personally, I thought the sweetness of the sauce was a little lessened. I like the old sweetness.

This is a popular eel restaurant in Shizuoka City. This restaurant has about 40 seats inside, so it fills up quickly. This time, I decided to visit the restaurant for lunch, so I arrived a little early. I was able to enter the restaurant without waiting long and ordered the famous Ippon-yaki set meal for 4,800 yen. After about 10 minutes of waiting, the eel was slowly grilled over charcoal and served. The crispy skin, fluffy meat, and sweet sauce made for the most delicious eel. It was a sumptuous lunch and more than worth the price.
