This small okonomiyaki restaurant located near Shin-Nagata Station has only a few seats around the teppan. The batter, cooked right in front of you, is as thin as a crepe, and the fun lies in layering cabbage and meat in a petayaki style. Although the finished okonomiyaki looks flat, it surprisingly combines a crispy texture with a fluffy feel. After lightly brushing on a sweet sauce, adding a bit of spicy sauce creates a perfect blend of savory and a slight kick. The umami that seeps from the large clams and beef brisket permeates the batter, and the richness of the dashi expands with each bite. The seasoned space and the warm atmosphere that has been passed down for three generations allow you to fully enjoy the local charm characteristic of Nagata.
