Hing Kee Restaurant, located in a corner of Yau Ma Tei and Temple Street, has been a long-standing establishment for claypot rice for over 30 years, symbolizing Hong Kong's street food culture. It is featured in the Michelin Guide and is known as a local favorite. On this day, we had stir-fried water spinach with shrimp paste, spicy chicken, fried oysters with egg, and the signature minced beef claypot rice. The claypot rice with added egg is particularly noteworthy at the moment when you mix in the soy sauce with the fragrant crispy rice. While the cooking was well-executed in terms of heat and aroma, the overall impression did not quite meet the expectations of cohesion. Nevertheless, the real essence of 'Hong Kong food' is present here, allowing you to feel the vibrancy of the night market and the scent of everyday life.
