In a calm dining area within the inn, meals around the irori (traditional Japanese hearth) are very pleasant. The yam hot pot is filled with plenty of wild celery, green onions, and mushrooms, and the chewy texture of the yam combined with the rich broth is superb. The grilled iwana (char) is fragrant, with tender flesh that is soft even to the bones, making it delicious. The small bowls of wild vegetables and side dishes have a gentle flavor that is irresistible for fans of Japanese cuisine. The seating at the irori is arranged smoothly, and the service is polite and pleasant. Although it can be popular and fully booked at times, the relaxed atmosphere makes for a very satisfying experience.
