Irori Chaya is a hidden gem nestled deep in the lush mountain paths. This is a cozy dining place along a mountain path where you can relax. Right as you enter, there is a charcoal grill where they carefully roast iwana (a type of trout), resulting in a fluffy white flesh with just the right amount of salt. The iwana, freshly caught from the live fish tank, is fragrant and tender, allowing you to appreciate the blessings of the river. The soba noodles, made with 80% buckwheat, have a rich color and a wonderful aroma, and the dipping sauce is full of flavor. You can also enjoy local tastes with tororo made from Kaga's maruimo and noodles with kintoki grass. In this small space centered around the counter, souvenirs are displayed, making it enjoyable to browse while waiting.
