Before starting the hike, I picked up a takeout bento here. The bento, which included cut steak from Iga beef and rice balls, had tender meat that paired well with the lightly seasoned rice even when cold. Enjoying it while gazing at the autumn leaves from a rest area overlooking a waterfall was the best, as I could also savor the scent of nature. After descending, I ordered the local specialty beef soup, which was a hot soup filled with plenty of beef, large tofu, yam, and an egg, warming me up. It also came with tempura, mountain vegetables, and kinpira, so I was able to get a good amount of vegetables and felt very satisfied. On the way back, I bought grass rice cakes and grilled rice cakes as souvenirs, and the old-fashioned simple sweetness warmed my heart.
