The thatched-roof building catches the eye, creating an atmosphere as if one has stepped into a fairy tale. Inside, there are table seats and tatami rooms where you can relax. The sound of flowing water can be heard, bringing a sense of calm. You can choose between hand-made and machine-made soba, and the hand-made version has a pleasant texture that goes down smoothly. There are dishes like wild vegetable nameko soba and maitake soba, and the flavors of the ingredients are distinctly felt, which was satisfying. You can enjoy self-serve sweet sake by the irori (traditional Japanese hearth), and it's a convenient place to stop by on the way to and from Kusatsu.
