When you enter the restaurant and take off your shoes, the glossy hallway and stairs feel nice. The private room we were shown to is quiet, with a view of a shrine beyond the window, and the surrounding water scenery adds to the calming atmosphere. The eel has a fluffy texture, with a rich umami flavor that pairs perfectly with the slightly sweet sauce. The sauce seeps well into the rice, and when you sprinkle some pepper from the gourd-shaped dish, the aroma spreads pleasantly. The slight bitterness of the liver soup provides a good accent, leaving a pleasant aftertaste. The vegetable tempura is well-seasoned with condiments, making it an enjoyable first dish.
