A wood-fired pizza restaurant with a charming atmosphere and personality

Akai Kuma is a specialty wood-fired pizza shop located along the beautiful streets of Narai-juku. The creative combinations of wild vegetables and Gorgonzola with apples captivate visitors. The warm and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a countryside grandmother's home is another reason to visit. In addition to pizza, you can also enjoy refreshing sansho ice cream and house-made umeshu whiskey.

Located along the street of Naraijuku, it is easy to stop by during a stroll. It is also easily accessible from the station, and the atmosphere is lovely even before entering. The pizza has a wonderful aroma, and the harmony between the dough and toppings is outstanding. The wild vegetable pizza has a slight bitterness that complements the cheese, while the quattro formaggi with apple and gorgonzola is impressive. The drinks include beer, wine, and whiskey, and the homemade plum whiskey has a strong flavor and goes down smoothly. The desserts are also appealing, and the pear and almond tart enjoyed in the tatami room on the second floor was fragrant and very much to my liking.
