When you open the door, a seating area surrounding a irori (a traditional Japanese sunken hearth) spreads out, and you instantly feel relieved. They gently grill fish and vegetables over charcoal right in front of you, and just the aroma makes you happy. You can choose from the lined-up ingredients, which makes it exciting to select. The fluffy grilled Hatahata fish, the gently sour Nanban-zuke (pickled vegetables), and the fragrant asparagus were particularly impressive. The menu also includes satisfying options for finishing off the meal, such as grilled rice balls, isobe-maki (rice balls wrapped in seaweed), zosui (rice soup), and udon, making you want to linger longer. You can enjoy a pleasant time wrapped in a quiet warmth while listening to the sound of the charcoal crackling.
