It is a resort-like roadside station with a hot spring and lodging facilities. The eating and drinking facilities have a quiet atmosphere, perhaps due to a further drop in traffic on the Toyooka Road extending to Yatsuka. The cafeteria offers a wide variety of dishes, such as rice bowls and curry, at reasonable prices. The self-service diner is especially recommended for its iced coffee. Akaneya is also a restaurant of interest.
