The retro appearance with wooden walls and fixtures is very appealing. The interior, with its cream-colored ceiling and reddish-brown tiled floor, feels calm and reminiscent of a spacious Japanese-style izakaya. Despite having many seats, such as counters and raised areas, it's delightful that the food arrives quickly even with the owner managing everything alone. The rich mapo tofu has a fun texture with wood ear mushrooms and shiitake, and the vibrant color of the watercress makes it hard to put down the chopsticks. The fried gyoza and the salad packed with vegetables also have a light flavor, and I was satisfied all the way to the last almond tofu. It has a richness that is hard to believe for a Chinese dish that doesn't use animal ingredients, and even non-vegetarians will smile at its deliciousness.
