I casually entered a new standing bar in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Area. It's a cozy space with only a counter, and I'm excited to see a lineup of sake from the Takahashi River basin. The staff are members of the regional revitalization team, and they passionately talk about Okayama and Bichu, making it a very comfortable place. When I requested a tasting course, it was fun as they poured sake according to my preferences, from dry to floral types. I could choose from Bizen pottery and Kurashiki glass sake cups, which changed the atmosphere with each sake and made me want to take photos. The snacks, such as octopus from Shimotsui, dried meat from Tsuyama, and mackerel from Tamashima, were all wonderful and paired excellently with the sake.
