This is a small traditional Japanese shop located on the way to Bishamonten-do. The entrance is modest, but once you step inside, a fragrant aroma of peppercorn fills the air. The specialty, chirimen sansho, has a refined taste that pairs perfectly not only with rice but also with sake. The dorayaki filled with white bean paste mixed with sansho offers a pleasantly tingling new sensation, with surprises in every bite. The thick shiitake mushroom tsukudani releases a sweet and savory juice that brings a sense of happiness. Conversations with the friendly shop owner are enjoyable, and stopping by during a stroll in Yamashina makes the journey even more fulfilling.
