When you open the door, it is more spacious than you imagine, and it has a sense of cleanliness that makes you feel at ease. The owner and his child greet you with smiles and even take care to ask whether you prefer your tea hot or cold. They carefully explain the menu from the counter and check your preferences for wasabi and any ingredients you might not like right from the start. The sushi is made with fresh ingredients that have no odor, and the rice has a mild acidity, creating a good balance. The sashimi of horse mackerel and the herring roe particularly stand out, and the soy sauce is just right, making it hard to put down the chopsticks. There are many regular customers, creating a lively atmosphere, and there are satisfying combinations that include a slightly larger portion of sushi, chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), and red miso soup.
