Omachi's Famous Taromen I came to Omachi station for work and realized that I hadn't eaten lunch yet... I realized that I had not eaten lunch yet... From the station, I thought there were not many stores, but I was able to have lunch at a store attached to the product sales center in front of the station. Nagasaki chanpon-like soup with lots of vegetables and udon noodles? The soup is also full of ginger to warm up your cold body. The soup is a bit salty, but that is to be expected considering that it is based on a meal for coal miners. It happened to be a warm day for February, and when I added some chili peppers that were on the table, I couldn't stop sweating. The vegetables are plentiful, and the flavor is more lightly salty than chanpon, which matches the udon surprisingly well. The udon is also firm, not as firm as Sanuki udon, but not too stretched out, making it easy to eat. There are also several other side dishes in small bowls that can be microwaved. There is also a "taroman," a pork bun-style version of taromen, but I was too full to try it this time. The biggest question for me was whether I would visit here again.
