I want to enjoy local delicacies to the fullest! Coffee House Rocky is a place where you can enjoy Kakogawa's famous "Katsumeshi" (cutlet rice). Coffee House Rocky Higashi-Kakogawa Station (Hyogo) Coffee House Rocky is a cafe in Kakogawa that looks like a coffee shop that could be found anywhere. In fact, however, it is a famous restaurant that serves local B-class gourmet "katsumeshi" (cutlet rice). Katsumeshi is Katsumeshi is a soul food invented around 1955 at a diner in Kakogawa, Hyogo Prefecture. It has been featured on TV, in magazines, and at events. Beef cutlet on rice served on a flat Western plate, topped with a demi-glace based sauce. Just as I was thinking about trying it once, Rocky told me about a delicious "katsumeshi" (cutlet and rice), so I paid a visit. I was surprised to see a line of people waiting in line when I arrived around 12:00 pm. However, there were many seats available, so it only took about 10 minutes to get in. I can see why it is loved by both locals and tourists. Menu ♦Beef cutlet rice (loin) 930 yen You can choose beef or pork for the standard katsumeshi. This time, I chose the beef cutlet rice. The volume of the pork cutlet was huge. If it were normal, I would not have ordered a "large" one, lol. Miso? The demi-glace sauce is not the astringent type, but sweet. It is sweet like miso, It is similar to the taste you get when you eat hashed rice. The taste is sour first, and the sweetness develops in the aftertaste. The thick sauce is mixed with the fat of the meat, making it mild and easy to eat. It has a TFE/B-class gourmet feel to it. The volume is also good for men who eat a lot. The restaurant has a retro atmosphere, which is relaxing, but there is no smoking area. But you need to be careful about that. I would like to come back again because I was interested in the hamburgers and other dishes on the menu. Thank you for the meal.
