A sake brewery to experience local charm

Mori no Hanare, located in Kurume surrounded by the rich nature of Kyushu, produces handcrafted junmai sake using local rice and water. The sake offered by this brewery pursues the unique flavors of the region, impressing many sake enthusiasts. Additionally, the warm hospitality provided to visitors is another charm, allowing for new discoveries with each visit.

It is a place that you can walk to from the station without getting lost. I enjoyed slowly tasting local sake while looking at the well-maintained garden. Inside the historical Japanese building, you can choose from standard and seasonal selections, as well as limited edition brands. There is a tasting set, and the combination of comparing drinks and snacks is fun. There is also a set of tea and sweets available, so even those who are not good with alcohol or those who are driving can enjoy it. There are tours of the brewery and events, and I am excited to encounter not only sake but also shochu and dressings made with koji.
