The moment I opened the shop's door, a nostalgic atmosphere typical of an old town Chinese restaurant spread out, lifting my spirits. I enjoyed the self-service of pouring barley tea while gazing at the manga lined up in front of the counter. This time, I chose the thick and hearty five-ingredient soba, and I felt warm inside at the combination of the colorful ingredients and the gentle soup. As I slurped the noodles, the crunchy vegetables mixed with the sauce filled my mouth, making it hard to stop using my chopsticks. The mapo noodles I ordered alongside had a delightful contrast between the softness of the tofu and the texture of the finely chopped pork, making me want to drink up the soup as well. I waited a little for the serving, but the moment I bit into the freshly made hot dish, I was so satisfied that I forgot about the wait.
