Katsuhama is a new tonkatsu restaurant located in 'Sakura Yokocho' in Sagae City, Yamagata Prefecture, featuring a charming Showa retro atmosphere. The interior is adorned with Showa-era records and magazines, creating a nostalgic and calming space. The tonkatsu, made from carefully selected Yonezawa pork, offers a tender and crispy texture, complemented by a variety of flavors from five different condiments.

The store has a nostalgic atmosphere, decorated with records and old televisions, creating a calming environment. The seating includes tables and an L-shaped counter, allowing for a relaxed experience whether alone or in a group. The pork cutlets, both loin and fillet, are thick and are said to be fried slowly at a lower temperature, allowing the flavors to be fully appreciated. You can enjoy the taste of Yonezawa pork not only with sauce but also with rock salt, moromi, mustard, and grated wasabi. The rice is made from Hae-nuki grown in Sagae, cooked in a traditional rice cooker, and served with white miso seaweed miso soup and salad. The meal is presented on a wooden plate, and the soothing background music enhances the enjoyment of both the food and the atmosphere.
