Elegant and advanced Japanese sweets I have always wanted to visit this store. Shougetsu is always at the top of the list of wagashi in Kyoto and in Japan! 10 minute walk from Kitaoji Station. The store is tucked away in a residential area. Wagashi must be reserved in advance I made a reservation the day before, but I was lucky enough to get a reservation if you leave it to us! If you are planning to go, it might be better to make a reservation well in advance! All you have to do is go into the store and pick up your reservation. I was a little disappointed at the simplicity of the style. After enjoying Kyoto for a day, when I went home and opened the box, what jumped out at me was the wagashi that had an aura of elegance all over it! How beautiful! Let's savor them slowly and carefully one by one! Uguisu (Japanese nightingale) Is it a Haniujyu-mochi? Very delicately soft, with a sweet bean paste inside. The azuki beans don't interfere and the kinako (soybean flour) is fragrant! All of them are modest in their assertion, but when they are combined into one, they have a great presence! One flower A little more pink color to make it spring.... The inside is filled with koshi-an (sweet bean paste), moist and smooth. The sweetness is really restrained, and it leaves a lasting impression of deliciousness. Fukubai So soft, it fell apart when I held it... Craftsman! Sorry! Is this also a Habutae mochi? Very smooth rice cake with a sweet bean paste inside! The smooth texture makes me smile! Michitose I may have never seen such a beautiful, beautiful kinton. The yellowish green color is so beautiful! It was a moving experience. Kitadaiji "nohzuki Kin-ton Spring 1st place in the Japanese confectionery category in the food log Silver Prize in the Eating Log Awards A store quietly located in a residential area with reservations only. I made a reservation in advance because I was sure I wanted to go there 👍. The store has only a reception desk and no space to eat inside the store. So we decided to eat at Kinkakuji. They make the sweets according to the time when you make a reservation. I have never had such a delicious wagashi before... It is not sticky in the mouth. The sweetness is refreshing. Is it wasanbon? I was shocked that such a wagashi existed in this world. It looks beautiful and tastes wonderful! I am glad to know the best taste in Japan.
