In a calm shop that feels like a hideaway, the entrance is marked by a noren with Kabuki makeup patterns. Upon entering, the proprietress welcomes you, and you feel at ease in the quiet space where the sound of the koto flows. The daytime Daitokuji bento is served with appetizers, soup, and sashimi brought out one by one, allowing you to enjoy the feeling of a course meal. A dish of smooth sesame tofu topped with crab sauce spreads a gentle aroma of dashi and was very satisfying. The matsutake mushroom steamed in a teapot is richly fragrant, and the small dishes packed tightly in the box are visually stunning and delightful. You can slowly savor your meal while looking out at a small garden from a quiet private room, and I was able to spend the entire time in a happy mood.
