I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal while looking at the mountain range from the dining area on the high platform. The hittsumi (a type of noodle) has a smooth texture from the hand-torn dough and can be enjoyed lightly with a gentle chicken broth. The sweet simmered yamame (a type of trout) is tender and well-infused with flavor, making it a great accompaniment to rice. The wasabi tempura zaru soba (cold buckwheat noodles) has a fragrant aroma, and the tempura, including shrimp and maitake mushrooms, is crispy and satisfying. The sharp flavor of the leaf wasabi soba, with its pungent leaves and stems, is refreshing and leaves a pleasant aftertaste. After the meal, walking around the area, I was delighted to see thatched-roof curved houses, waterwheels, and rice fields, which made me feel connected to the old way of life.
