A cozy house restaurant offering a heartwarming local cuisine experience

Aizu Traditional Local Cuisine Sho is a local cuisine restaurant run by a couple. When you visit, you feel a sense of familiarity as if you've returned to your grandparents' home. In spring, you can enjoy dishes made with fresh mountain vegetables, and in autumn, there are mushroom dishes. Their homemade udon and mountain vegetable dishes are definitely worth a visit. It's a special place where you can savor the rich flavors of nature in each season.

This is a modest house shop located in a quiet residential area. You can relax in a tatami room with tables and chairs. They serve fragrant herbal tea, which is comforting. The local dishes made with natural ingredients like mountain blessings and mushrooms are all delicious. You can enjoy mushroom rice, pickled herring with sansho, omelet, thick fried tofu with fuki miso, and grilled iwana with tree buds. Listening to stories about the dishes while savoring them makes you feel warm, as if you are at home, and it's a delightful place for sake lovers.

In a calming space that makes use of a traditional house, there are seats arranged around a fire, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The local cuisine is simple yet feels carefully prepared, offering a comforting taste. The bounty of the mountains is abundant, and I especially get excited when wild vegetables and mushrooms are in season. You can also enjoy traditional dishes, such as fish from the sea that has been cured with salt. The udon noodles, with their curly shape, pair well with the clear broth, and the rice with dried mushrooms can be enjoyed at any time. It's nice to slowly savor sake while listening to stories about the food, and you can relax as if you were in a countryside home.
