Who would have thought to put butter in it? I went on my first Kagawa Udon tour! I've seen everyone's udon tours and thought I'd like to go there someday too! I drove from Kobe Port to take the jumbo ferry, arriving before 6am ... I searched for an udon shop that was open early in the morning, and I found "Teuchi Jyudan Udon Baka Ichidai"! And it is close to Takamatsu Port! Immediately, boom! I can't explain the location well because I don't know the area... sorry! The parking lot has about 30 cars, divided in several places, but very convenient! We arrived just after 6:00 a.m., just after opening, and about 70% of the customers were inside the restaurant. I would say about half are tourists and half are locals. Order at the counter and pay the bill. When you are ready, you are called to pick up your order. Of course, Udon Baka is known for its kamatama butter! I learned about it from a review by an udon lover, and was surprised to see that they put butter in their udon! Kamatama Butter Small 490 yen Boiled udon noodles with butter and coarse pepper The udon noodles are very sticky and firm! I like it very much! Mix everything together and enjoy! The addition of butter to the kamatama makes it creamy and delicious! I think it's great that someone thought of adding butter! And the pepper sometimes gives a nice kick and adds a nice accent! I made a small one because I'm going to eat a few more bowls, but it might have been quite a lot! I heard that on weekends, there is a long line of people waiting before the restaurant opens! There aren't many places that open early in the morning, are there? I was so happy to be able to try the kamatama butter, which I had always wanted to try! I wonder how many bowls I will eat? Thank you for the food!

I had the specialty menu item, kamabata udon, at Udon Baka Ichidai, a very popular Sanuki udon restaurant in Takamatsu! I was so impressed with their udon that I had to go back 😋. When you enter the restaurant, you will see a wall full of colored papers of famous people, and the popularity of the restaurant is undeniable 😂. It was a rainy day, but there was a line outside the restaurant. I got in line and ordered "Kamabutter" of course! I heard it was carbonara style udon, but it wasn't so swollen and delicious 😋.
