I really hate to tell you this, but... I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened. In Chofu, "Jindaiji Soba" around Jindaiji Temple is famous, but the taste is not so good because they cater to tourists! When it first opened, it focused on soba and tempura, but recently it has expanded its menu to include udon, hot soba and a variety of snacks. However, our recommendation is the "Saimaki Ten Seiro". The balance between the savory tempura and soba is exquisite. The vegetable tempura is served together with seasonal ingredients such as sea eel tempura and oyster tempura. I recommend eating Tempura with snow salt and Soba with Soba-tsuyu (Soba-tsuyu soup) made of not too sweet Kaeshi and plenty of bonito broth. In my opinion, this is the No. 1 soba restaurant in Japan. I have been visiting many buckwheat noodle restaurants to find one that surpasses "Tanaka," but when I come back here, I am always reminded that "Tanaka" is the best. If you are a buckwheat noodle connoisseur, this is the place to go!
