It is an old-fashioned restaurant reminiscent of the Showa period. Marunabe is a reasonably priced yet delicious way to enjoy the taste of suppon. The broth is a Japanese soup stock of kombu and bonito, blended with the extract of Hamanako suppon (soft-shelled turtle) for a refreshing and nourishing taste. Suppon has absolutely no odor and is easy to eat. Additionally, you can make zosui (rice porridge) with the rest of the broth, which is appreciated by many. You can also enjoy pleasant conversation with the owner and proprietress. This is a restaurant where you can enjoy a pleasant drinking experience in a quaint, long-established atmosphere.
