The store is lined with Yamagata's specialties, allowing you to feel the travel mood from the moment you enter. The beef sukiyaki bowl I ordered for lunch had melt-in-your-mouth meat and a rich sauce that was exquisite, and I couldn't stop eating it. The chewy wheat gluten absorbed the sauce, and each bite spread a gentle sweetness. The salad of fresh mushrooms and Parmigiano that came with it had a strong aroma and a refreshing aftertaste, making a nice accent. The shabu-shabu I tried at night featured a combination of pork and beef, with freshly sliced meat and juicy vegetables rising with steam, instantly brightening up the table. After the meal, I bought Dutch rice crackers and other snacks at the register to take home, allowing me to enjoy the lingering taste of Yamagata even at home.
