Entering the quiet shop nestled in the mountains, I felt a sense of relief in the calm atmosphere filled with the warmth of wood. At the counter, I was excited to see the craftsman quickly preparing the ingredients cut from a large block. The horse mackerel, tuna, and shrimp, along with simmered eel and seasonal shellfish, all paired perfectly with the rice, bringing a smile with each piece. The small bowl topped with yuba and wasabi from Amagi had a wonderful aroma and spiciness that made me want to drink more. The lightly battered and crispy squid tempura and the deep-fried rockfish, which you could enjoy down to the bones, were so fragrant that I couldn't stop eating. Conversations with the friendly chef were enjoyable, and I was able to spend a relaxed and happy time in a warm space that felt steeped in history.
