Kanon is a wonderful restaurant located at a roadside station on the Satsuma Peninsula. It offers local seafood specialties like bonito and tuna in astonishingly delicious condition. The dining table is adorned with fresh sashimi presented in a boat-style arrangement, creating a luxurious display that whets the appetite. It's a place where you can enjoy the blessings of the sea alongside a rich natural landscape.

When I went up to the second floor of the roadside station, I was relieved to find a calm dining area. The sashimi platter that was brought to me first was served on a boat-shaped plate, and just the appearance raised my spirits. The slices were thick, and with each bite, the melting texture and the scent of the sea spread in my mouth. It was enjoyable to add wasabi according to my preference, which enhanced the flavor. The chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) and miso soup that accompanied the meal also had a gentle taste, warming my body. I think one of the unique charms of this place is being able to enjoy the lingering aftertaste while strolling around the area after the meal.
