The craftsmanship shines through in the tempura, with a focus on the freshness of the ingredients and meticulous frying techniques, making each bite a delightful experience. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere, and dining at the counter while watching the cooking process is truly exceptional.
With over 70 years of history, this renowned Shizuoka establishment is beloved by locals. In particular, the skewers with a superb grated garlic sauce and the sweet Shizuoka oden have captivated many. The homey yet generous fried dishes are also a highlight. This is the perfect place for those who want to fully experience the traditions of Shizuoka through its cuisine.
Sengoku is an izakaya I found near the station during my business trip to Shizuoka. I was surprised by the delicious and voluminous dishes. Among them, the tuna sashimi, macaroni salad, and macaroni gratin are especially recommended. The last udon dish was enjoyable even with two people because of its generous portion. The potato salad and simmered dishes also have a deep flavor, and the beer has a good foam. This izakaya has many repeat customers because of its reasonable prices and heartfelt service.
