A hidden izakaya with a Showa-era charm

Yamakan is an izakaya where you can enjoy delicious dishes in a calm atmosphere filled with Showa nostalgia. Enka music plays in the background, and the restaurant takes pride in its carefully crafted dishes, especially the dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette) and fresh seafood, which are exceptional. Each visit allows you to savor the local seasonal flavors, making it a captivating place.

The counter is cozy, and it's enjoyable to see the chef cooking right in front of you. The owner and the chef are friendly, making it a comfortable place where conversations flow easily. The seafood bowl is filled with fresh fish like Mosa shrimp and Nodoguro, and both its appearance and taste are wonderful. The sashimi platter includes sweet shrimp and Spanish mackerel, all incredibly fresh, especially the fatty Yokowa, which melts in your mouth. The meat dishes, such as Wagyu beef tataki and braised pork, are also well-prepared and very tender. There are private rooms on the second floor where you can relax, and I am always healed by the careful cooking and warm atmosphere.
