Exquisite Katsu Don at a Showa Retro Café Nestled in the Countryside

This nostalgic café, beloved by locals, is a Showa retro gem located deep in the rice fields of Kawasoe. The signature Katsu Don, featuring a perfectly runny egg and hand-breaded pork cutlet, is renowned for its unforgettable flavor. Dishes like the spice-infused Katsu Curry and the aromatic stir-fried vegetable Champon exceed expectations in taste. With authentic flavors that are hard to imagine from its exterior, this spot has a loyal following of repeat customers.

I happened to find this place in Kawasakimachi and walked in casually. The interior has a nostalgic atmosphere, and there is a massage chair in front of the TV, which is a bit interesting. The katsudon releases steam as soon as the lid is removed, and the egg is creamy, making me feel happy. The broth has a gentle sweetness, is not heavy, and I can keep eating it. The texture of the coating is just right, and I enjoyed finishing it completely. I'm also happy that it comes with a soup that resembles clear soup, and there are exciting options like beef rice with extra sauce and champon.
