There are many types of river fish, and just watching them is exciting. Grilled sweetfish has a wonderful aroma, the flesh is firm, and it's very easy to eat. Grilled eel, when lightly steamed before grilling, has a fragrant surface and a tender inside. The richness of the fat is just right, and it can be enjoyed deliciously with either sauce or soy sauce. There are also sweetfish simmered in sweet soy sauce and dried overnight, which is nice to savor slowly at home. The staff are very helpful in explaining everything, so it's reassuring even for first-timers.
