At a calm soba restaurant in front of the Spring Palace, the entrance with its storehouse-style door was lovely. After taking off my shoes and stepping up onto the tatami mat, there were small tables lined up, allowing for a relaxed experience. When I ordered the cold zaru soba, the thin 2:8 noodles were smooth and had an excellent texture. The freshly fried shrimp tempura had a crispy batter, which paired perfectly with the soba. The fresh wasabi, which I grated myself using a shark skin grater, had a rich aroma and a mild spiciness. I leisurely enjoyed the soba broth and soba tea that were served after the meal, and I felt completely satisfied, including the waiting time.
