An American Spare Rib Bar to Enjoy Down to the Bone

CRIB JUNKIE SENDAI is a place that has emerged in a back alley of Higashi Ichiba, where you can fully enjoy American barbecue. The signature spare ribs are so tender that they fall off the bone with just a fork, highlighting a sweet and spicy flavor along with the rich umami surrounding the bones. Donning disposable gloves and digging in with gusto, guests can savor hearty nachos and a variety of beers, creating an authentic diner atmosphere.

I entered an American bar I found in a narrow alley behind Mitsukoshi. It's a small shop centered around the counter, but as you go inside, a thrilling aroma spreads. The signature dish, the spare ribs, are so tender that they easily come off the bone, and it's best to take a big bite while wearing gloves. There are two types: a spicy version and the classic American type, and the balance of sweetness, saltiness, and spice is exquisite. The menu also includes a variety of snacks like nachos and carpaccio, and the nachos loaded with cheese are more substantial than I imagined. There is a wide selection of beers and wines, and when paired with the meat, it feels like an exciting trip to America.
