A beloved local diner

Mesiya Tengu is a convenient diner located near the Tsukiyono Interchange, open until late at night. The warm, cabin-like interior is adorned with a tengu mask from Mount Kasha in Numata, allowing guests to enjoy a retro Showa-era atmosphere. The popular Tengu set meal and tempura rice bowl are particularly praised by locals for being delicious and satisfying. The heartfelt cooking and service create a charming, homey ambiance.

I ordered a set meal. The pork loin marinated in miso is grilled to a fragrant perfection and is very juicy. The flavor is robust, and the white rice is cooked deliciously, making it hard to put down my chopsticks. When I add a little mayonnaise to the shredded cabbage, it creates a creamy taste that pairs well. The miso soup and small side dishes also have a careful flavor that is comforting. The grilling level and char are just right, and I was satisfied until the very end.
